Intellectual Property Rights
Our Content
All content on ReciDish—including recipes, articles, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, and design elements—is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This content is owned by ELTech Solutions LLC or used with permission from third parties.
Copyrights:
- Recipe text and instructions: © ELTech Solutions LLC
- Photographs: © ELTech Solutions LLC (unless otherwise noted)
- Website design and code: © ELTech Solutions LLC
Trademarks:
The ReciDish name, logo, and other brand elements are trademarks of ELTech Solutions LLC. You may not use them without our written permission.
Recipe Copyright (Important Clarification)
Here’s something interesting about food law: recipe ingredient lists generally aren’t copyrightable (they’re considered facts), but the specific expression of a recipe—the detailed instructions, personal tips, explanations, and creative elements—is protected by copyright.
So while you can use our ingredient list and make the dish, you can’t copy our specific wording, instructions, photos, or the creative expression of how we present the recipe.
Your Content
When you submit content to ReciDish (comments, recipe reviews, photos, etc.), you retain ownership of that content. However, you grant us a license to use it.
By submitting content, you give us permission to:
- Display your comment or review on our site
- Use your recipe photo in our galleries or social media (with credit)
- Modify your content for formatting or clarity
- Remove content that violates our policies
This license is non-exclusive (you can share the same content elsewhere), worldwide, and royalty-free. It lasts as long as your content remains on our site.
User Conduct and Community Guidelines
We want ReciDish to be a helpful, supportive community. When you interact on our site—whether commenting, emailing, or engaging on social media—we expect respectful behavior.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Post offensive, abusive, harassing, or discriminatory content
- Share spam, advertisements, or promotional content without permission
- Post false information or impersonate others
- Share others’ personal information without consent
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or anything that could harm our site
- Attempt to hack, scrape, or interfere with our site’s functionality
- Use automated bots or scripts to access our content
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Comments and Reviews Policy
We welcome authentic engagement: Share your cooking results, ask questions, offer helpful tips, and provide honest feedback on recipes.
We’ll remove comments that:
- Are spam or promotional
- Contain offensive language or personal attacks
- Share false or misleading information
- Violate others’ privacy or rights
- Are completely off-topic or nonsensical
Rating and reviews: If you rate or review a recipe, please be honest and fair. Reviews should reflect your actual experience. We reserve the right to remove fraudulent or manipulative reviews.
Recipe Accuracy and Testing
We take recipe accuracy seriously. Every recipe on ReciDish is tested multiple times by our team before publication. However:
We cannot guarantee:
- Results will be identical in every kitchen (ovens vary, ingredients differ, skill levels vary)
- Recipes will work perfectly with ingredient substitutions we haven’t tested
- Nutrition information is exact to the gram (we calculate carefully, but there’s always minor variation)
If a recipe doesn’t work for you:
Please let us know! Email [email protected] with specific details about what went wrong. We genuinely want to improve our recipes and will update them based on feedback.
Nutritional Information Disclaimer
Accuracy of Macros:
Our nutritional information is calculated using the USDA nutrition database and recipe calculation software. We do our best to provide accurate macro counts (protein, carbs, fats, calories), but:
- Actual nutrition may vary based on specific brands and ingredient variations
- Calculations are estimates, not exact measurements
- We’re not liable for decisions made based on our nutritional information
Jason (our nutrition advisor) reviews all calculations, but if you need precise nutrition information for medical reasons, please verify with a registered dietitian or use your own calculation methods.
Third-Party Links and Services
ReciDish includes links to external websites (Amazon, grocery stores, research articles, recommended tools, etc.). These links are provided for your convenience, but:
- We don’t control third-party websites
- We’re not responsible for their content, policies, or practices
- We don’t endorse all content on linked sites
- Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy policies
Affiliate Links:
Some links on ReciDish are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you purchase through our link at no additional cost to you. We only recommend products we genuinely use and believe in. Affiliate relationships never influence our recipe development or content.
Disclaimer of Warranties
ReciDish is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
We don’t warrant that:
- Our site will always be available or uninterrupted
- Content will be error-free or perfectly accurate
- Our site will be free from viruses or harmful components
- Defects will be corrected immediately
- Results from following our recipes will meet your expectations
We make no warranties about:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Merchantability
- Non-infringement of third-party rights
This isn’t us being pessimistic—it’s standard legal protection. We work hard to maintain a high-quality site, but we can’t guarantee perfection.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
ELTech Solutions LLC, ReciDish, and our team members (Emily Carter, Michael Thompson, Sarah Mitchell, Jason Reed) are not liable for any damages arising from your use of our site, including but not limited to:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Personal injury or property damage
- Allergic reactions or food-related illnesses
- Results from following our recipes or advice
In plain English: We’re not responsible if a recipe doesn’t turn out, you have an allergic reaction to an ingredient, or your oven burns dinner. We provide recipes and information, but you’re responsible for your own health and safety decisions.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to ReciDish cannot exceed $100 or the amount you paid us (if anything), whichever is less.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for incidental damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
Health and Safety Disclaimers
Food Safety Responsibility
You’re responsible for:
- Following proper food safety practices in your kitchen
- Washing produce and handling raw meat safely
- Cooking food to safe internal temperatures
- Storing leftovers properly
- Being aware of your own food allergies and sensitivities
- Checking ingredient labels for allergens
We provide general guidelines, but food safety is ultimately your responsibility. If you have questions about food safety, consult FDA guidelines or your local health department.
Allergen Information
We do our best to identify common allergens in recipes (dairy, eggs, nuts, gluten, soy, shellfish, etc.). However:
❗ We cannot guarantee recipes are safe for all allergy sufferers
❗ Cross-contamination may occur in our test kitchens
❗ Ingredient manufacturers may change formulations
❗ “May contain” warnings on packaged ingredients aren’t always noted
If you have severe food allergies, always:
- Read ingredient labels yourself
- Verify products are safe for your specific allergies
- Consult with an allergist before trying new foods
- Keep emergency medication (like an EpiPen) accessible
We care deeply about your safety, but we can’t take responsibility for allergic reactions. Your health is too important to leave to chance.
Medical and Health Advice Disclaimer
ReciDish is not medical advice. The information on our site is for general educational purposes only.
We are NOT:
- Doctors, registered dietitians, or licensed nutritionists
- Providing medical, nutritional, or dietary advice
- Diagnosing or treating any health conditions
- Recommending specific diets for medical conditions
Jason Reed holds nutrition certifications (CSCS, Precision Nutrition Level 2), but his role on ReciDish is to ensure accurate macro calculations and nutrition information, not to provide personalized medical advice.
Before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have:
- Existing health conditions (diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, etc.)
- Food allergies or intolerances
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Are taking medications
- Are under 18 or over 65
- Have a history of eating disorders
Please consult with:
- Your doctor or healthcare provider
- A registered dietitian
- A licensed nutritionist
This is especially important for people on GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro), managing chronic conditions, or following high-protein diets for specific health goals.
Results vary: What works for one person may not work for another. We share general information about high-protein eating, but your individual needs may differ.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ELTech Solutions LLC, ReciDish, and our team members from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of our site
- Your violation of these Terms and Conditions
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you submit to our site
- Your misuse of recipes or information
In simpler terms: If you do something with our content that gets us sued, you’re responsible for the consequences, not us.
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to ReciDish at any time, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms and Conditions
- You engage in behavior harmful to our site or community
- Required by law
- We discontinue ReciDish entirely (hope not!)
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the site immediately ends
- We may delete your account and associated content
- Provisions that should naturally survive (like liability limitations) remain in effect
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Governing Law:
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Jurisdiction:
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of ReciDish will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of these courts.
Informal Resolution First:
Before filing any legal action, please contact us at [email protected] to try to resolve the issue informally. Most problems can be solved through conversation.
Arbitration (Optional):
If we can’t resolve a dispute informally, you may choose binding arbitration instead of going to court. Arbitration is usually faster and less expensive than litigation.
Class Action Waiver:
You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding. This means you can’t join a class action lawsuit against ReciDish.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow class action waivers, so this may not apply to you.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or removed entirely, while the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
In other words: If one part of these terms is legally problematic, only that part gets changed or removed—the rest still applies.
Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, along with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and ReciDish regarding use of our site. They replace any prior agreements or understandings, written or verbal.
No Waiver
If we don’t enforce a provision of these terms at some point, that doesn’t mean we’re waiving our right to enforce it later. We might let some things slide occasionally, but that doesn’t mean we’ve given up our rights.
